Extreme sports fans, you wait months at a time then two major occasions on the calendar at once. But we’re not complaining.

The Middle East Extreme Sports Expo (MEX) is returning to Dubai next month, the only consumer and trade event in the region dedicated to outdoor and adventure sports of this calibre.

Falling December 3-5, it’s at the same time as the FAI Dubai World Air Games scheduled for December 1-12. The decision to run both at simultaneously for some of the days is especially good news for those coming to the emirate specifically to watch the sporting action.

Marine transportation will take visitors to and from MEX at Dubai International Marine Club and the Dubai World Air Games held at Skydive Dubai as Never Before Events teams up with Dubai Sports Council.

“Having the Middle East Extreme Sports Expo and the Dubai World Air Games aligned will offer local and international visitors the choice of visiting two exciting events at the same time,” H.E Saeed Hareb President of the Organising Committee of the Dubai World Air Games and Secretary General of the Dubai Sports Council said.

MEX is split into three respective land, air and sea pavilions and will feature some of the best international and local equipment and brands from extreme sports across the planet.

Those in attendance will get the opportunity to try electric mountain bikes and skateboards, paintball, paragliding, kite surfing and extreme sport simulators at the event.

“The popularity of extreme and action sports in Dubai, the UAE and the region continues to grow rapidly,” Zarir Saifuddin, partner at Never Before Events and the Founder of the Middle East Extreme Sports Expo said in a statement. “So it is only natural to have a bigger extreme sports expo every year with more exhibitors and visitors.”
