Tiger stops traffic in Doha

Time Out has video footage of a tiger in Doha, on the loose during rush hour. See more of the wild animal in Qatar, which has since been caught

The Knowledge

Traffic jams are not an unusual sight on the Doha Expressway, but motorists had a surprise when they looked ahead and saw a tiger bounding towards them today.

The unbelievable footage shows the tiger stalking between cars on a crowded motorway. It is thought the incident occurred late on in the morning and pictures and video quickly began to circulate on social media.

The Ministry of Interior tweeted to say that it was aware of the news and subsequent photographs on social media seemed to show that the animal had been captured and was sitting alongside a man appearing to hold onto a chain.

The appearance of the tiger saw the re-emergence of the satirical Twitter account @dohatiger claiming to be tweeting directly from the scene itself
