Dubai drivers will soon be able to save queuing time and renew their paperwork online.

"We are developing an online portal to help motorists renew their driving licences and vehicle registration without making trips to our offices," said Ahmad Bahrouzian, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Licensing Agency at the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority.

Bahrouzian who played an important role in e-Government projects of the Dubai government before joining the RTA, said that the aim of the online service would be to reduce number of trips the customers have to make to offices.

"Online initiative will help customers complete many other services on the internet but we will be focusing more on the renewal of licences and car registration," he added.
