UAE nationals told to avoid Sri Lanka

Don't travel to Sri Lanka unless you have to - UAE Government tells citizens after security fears...

The UAE has urged its citizens to avoid traveling to Sri Lanka, unless it is an emergency, due to the current security conditions in the country, a Foreign Ministry official announced last night.

The ministry asked UAE nationals who are already in Sri Lanka to approach the UAE embassy in Colombo and provide it with their contact details (phone numbers and addresses, in line with the UAE's keenness to ensure the safety of its citizens abroad.
