Well Armed wins Dubai World Cup

6-year-old wins world's richest horse race in Dubai

Well Armed has won the Dubai World Cup and gallops away with the $6million prize fund.

This was only the seventh win in 23 starts for the six-year-old but he was a clear distance ahead of Gloria de Campeao.

A rainy day in Dubai clearly did not suit the pre-race favourite Albertus Maximus who never challenged the leader of the 14 horse pack.

This was the final ever race at the Nad Al Sheba racecourse before it moves onto the $1.25billion Meydan racing complex.
