Dubai Marina murder

35-year-old Chechen man “executed” in JBR carpark in broad daylight

A 36-year-old Chechen man was found dead in the carpark of Rimal 6 in Jumeirah Beach Residence on Saturday afternoon. Sulaiman Yamadayev is believed to have been shot at close range as he walked to his car at around 3pm.

The shooting is the second murder in a Dubai carpark in less than a month after a woman was stabbed to death at Ibn Battuta Mall in February.

Madov, who apparently had two bodyguards with him, was killed in what Dubai police described as a planned execution-style attack.

Gulf News has reported that Dubai Police are holding a Russian National in connection with the incident. Police have not confirmed these reports.

Lieutenant General Dahi Khalfan Tamim, Chief of Dubai Police, said: "The murder of the Chechen seems to be an assassination because he was shot dead in the parking of the building where he was living." He added: "It seems the 36-year-old victim, called Sulaiman Madov, had been under surveillance for some time."
