New loos for Sharjah

Sharjah is now home to some pretty snazzy new air-conditioned public toilets

Great news if finding a half-decent public toilet is a bit of a mission. Sharjah Municipality are on the case. They've just installed the first upgraded public toilet at the Al Jubail area near the fish market and more are on their way over the coming months.

"There are older toilets, but it seems that nobody uses them. With these upgraded toilets, we hope residents will be encouraged to use them and that there will be no need to go to restaurants and cafeterias anymore," said Hassan Hassan Al Taffaq, Head of Environmental Section at Sharjah Municipality.
