Student hacker arrested

A teenage hacker has been accused of leaking exam papers

A 17-year-old student has been detained for hacking into the school computer and stealing examination papers, Dubai Police said.

The Arab teenager, studying in a private school in Dubai, managed to hack into the school's computer and accessed data using an external computer, said Captain Rashid Ahmad Lootah, Director of Cyber Crime Evidence at the Forensic Science and Criminology Department of Dubai Police.

The suspect passed on the exam papers to many students. The school came to know about the leaks after many such incidences and alerted police.

Police said it is not yet confirmed whether the student was selling the exam papers as the case is still being investigated. It will soon be referred to the public prosecution.
