Philippine boxing champion Manny Pacquiao said he will return to Manila as scheduled tomorrow despite advice from health officials to observe self-quarantine to help prevent the spread of swine flu.
Pacquiao said he and his entourage, who were in Los Angeles, do not have any flu symptoms that could justify their quarantine.
He told DZBB radio, "If you are healthy, why should you be quarantined?"
On Wednesday, Health Secretary Francisco Duque III urged Pacquiao to postpone his homecoming because the virus was found to have spread to the California city.
A grand homecoming is being planned on Friday for Pacquiao, who beat Ricky Hatton in a light welterweight bout in Las Vegas Sunday.
