Full line-up for STEP Music announced

One-day festival to showcase the finest in Middle Eastern contemporary music

The full line-up for STEP Music has been announced, with 17 of the Middle East’s top acts heading to the Dubai International Marine Club on Friday April 7.

The 12-hour festival (in partnership with Anghami) will bring you 21 performances of rock, hip-hop and more from the region’s indie music scene, featuring international stars and local talent from the UAE and beyond.

Top of the list are headliners Mashrou’ Leila, the biggest independent Arabic-language band in the world. Hailing from Lebanon, the indie rockers pride themselves on a highly orchestrated, storytelling approach to their music. Expect to hear melancholic ballads and raucous anthems.

Meanwhile, Lebanese compatriots The Wanton Bishops will be bringing a rock ’n’ roll edge to the outdoor stage; with Jordanian group Autostrad and Lebanese act Adonis making up an indie-pop rock heavy line-up.

At the indoor stage, Palestinian electronic songwriter Muqata’a will be bringing his socio-political rhymes to STEP, alongside Iraqi-Canadian hip-hop artist MC Narcy, who will be bringing his smart and humorous A-game.

Elsewhere are iTunes MENA chart-toppers Flipp & Daffy, the rap duo who have seen internet fame with their track ‘Ee Laa’, which has cleared 13 million views on YouTube.
