Dubai Jazz Festival's miniseries launches April 28

Dubai Jazz Festival has announced its first line-up for the Jazz Garden miniseries of gigs, and it’s going to be a pretty bluesy and jazzy affair.

Time Out Dubai named the Emirates Airline Dubai Jazz Festival the Festival of the Year at the Music and Nightlife Awards, and the popularity of the event has sparked it back into life following February’s three-day event, in which Tom Jones, Mariah Carey and Enrique Iglesias headlined.

Not content with simply putting together an annual bonanza, Dubai Jazz Festival has announced The Jazz Garden will be popping up regularly throughout the year, and the first edition will be held at the Fountain Garden at Habtoor Grand Hotel on Friday April 28. Best of all? It’s free with online registration, so get booking.

The Jazz Garden originally took place in 2014 as a standalone event spread across multiple days, but its revamped format will now see quick fire, one-night gigs with multiple acts taking to the stage, with the event occurring sporadically across the rest of the year.

Headlining the first concert of the 2017 series is Bonita & The Blues Shacks featuring Sax Gordon – and If they’re a seriously funky outfit. this little teaser video below is anything to go by, it’s going to be a massive night of New Orleans-inspired blues and funk.
