du offering free high-speed wi-fi for Eid al-Adha

Get five days of complimentary internet, ten times faster than usual

Running low on data? That’s not a problem, as starting Sunday August 19 for the next five days, du is offering everyone extremely fast internet, completely for free.

Until Thursday August 23, Dubai’s local telecom company will not only give free wi-fi supplied by WiFi UAE without anyone paying a single dirham, but it will also be ten times faster than normal. Think of all the posting and calling to be done.

Much like last Eid al-Fitr, more than 400 hotspots around the city will get a major boost in speed.

Places include Dubai Metro, bus stations, The Walk opposite JBR, Emaar Boulevard in Downtown Dubai and plenty more across Dubai.
All you need to do is connect to WiFi UAE and you’re all set to gobble up as much data as you want.

“Higher speed wi-fi in the UAE is our way of celebrating the joyous occasion of Eid and thanking our customers for the faith they have in us,” said Deputy CEO of TelcoServices – Emirates Integrated Telecommunication Company (EITC) Fahad Al Hassawi.

“In line with our support of the UAE’s Vision 2021, du aims to achieve country-wide wi-fiaccess to connect customers whenever they are.”

With internet speeds such as this, it’ll make streaming all those Eid fireworks shows on your phone a complete breeze. Check out where you can watch them right here.

Looking for more things to do so you can share your Eid celebrations via Instagram? Novo Cinemas will be open 24 hours a day just for the occasion, along with IMG Worlds of Adventure setting up a selection of entertainment including Performances from stilt walkers, unicyclists and acrobats.

Enjoy the celebrations.
