Hijri New Year holiday for UAE public sector

A holiday day has been announced for the public sector to celebrate the Islamic New Year.

It’s not long since Eid Al Adha, when many of us had a long weekend in honour of the important public holiday.

But the next calendar milestone is already on the horizon.

Workers will get a long weekend with next Thursday (September 13) off, and normal hours will resume on Sunday September 16.

The important occasion is traditionally a time for Muslims to reflect on their faith.

Any holiday for private sector workers is yet to be announced, but keep an eye on Time Out Dubai for details.
