Emirates named the best airline in the world

Emirates has been named the best airline in the world at the Condé Nast Travel Awards.

The Dubai flag carrier was voted top among dozens of companies in a survey of travellers conducted by the magazine.

It comes after Emirates introduced its hi-tech range of First Class Suites which feature virtual windows and video calling.

And it’s not the first award that the airline has taken home this year, with the carrier also recognised for its in-flight entertainment and cabin service in July.

In the same month, it also was awarded four awards at the World Travel Awards Middle East.

Emirates vice president Richard Jewsbury said: “We are committed to delivering the best possible experience both in the air and on the ground for our customers, by continually raising the bar with our product offering and exceeding our passengers’ expectations.”

Earlier this year, research revealed that Emirates is among the world's cheapest airlines.

Travel planning platform Rome2Rio reviewed air fares for economy class seats around the world, showing the national carrier is among the most affordable.

The study shows prices per kilometre, with Emirates flights coming out at an average of $0.11 (Dhs0.40).

The report covered 200 airlines, and prices for Emirates are similar to Singapore Airlines ($0.11), Cathay Pacific ($0.11), AirAsia ($0.13) and even easyJet ($0.19).

Indeed, Emirates has launched a new flight direct to Edinburgh and is offering special fares in honour of the new flight path.
As part of the promotion, passengers can get reduced rate tickets to the Scottish destination, with prices starting at Dhs2,495.

Flights start on Monday October 1 and passengers in the UAE can book cheap fares on all economy and business class travel up until Monday September 10 for flights between Monday October 1 and Friday May 31 2019.

Economy class tickets start from Dhs2,495 and business class tickets start from Dhs13,165, and the new daily service will be operated by an Emirates Boeing 777-300ER in a three-class configuration.

You can also book with Emirates Holidays and enjoy a five-star holiday experience for an additional spend starting at Dhs1,173 per person, exclusive of the airfare.
