Spotify is set to launch in UAE this November

Popular music streaming platform Spotify is preparing for a big launch this November across the Middle East and North Africa, which means eager music fans in Dubai will get to use the app.

The Swedish company is currently looking for advertisers and jobs before being available to the public, according to Gulf News.

An email sent to a Dubai-based local ad agency revealed that it is searching six brands to advertise at launch.

Job listings have appeared on websites such as LinkedIn, including the role of customer relationship management (CRM) and social manager in Dubai – posted a few days ago.

Earlier this year, we told you Spotify had already began hiring for a number of positions locally, including the role of Senior Editor “to join Spotify’s Shows and Editorial (S&E) team in Dubai.”

Spotify will join local streaming app Anghami, Apple Music and Deezer, and will rely on paid subscriptions and advertising, hence why it’s on the hunt for advertisers.

Previously, we also mentioned that the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) had reportedly been holding discussions with Microsoft along with Apple to allow the popular apps to be used across the emirates.

With Spotify now set to be available across UAE, who knows what the future might hold for Skype and FaceTime

Currently, Spotify users who try to app in the UAE are notified that content isn’t available in this region. But that is set to change in a few short months.
