New Dubai Metro trains arriving in November

The sleek new trains will be more spacious with a swankier design

When it comes to public transport, Dubai hits the nail on the head with cheap, clean and safe methods of ferrying us around our fair city.

Looking to the future we can expect the likes of the super-fast Hyperloop and even flying taxis, but there’s been a new exciting announcement and it’s coming to the city a lot sooner.

The first of a fleet of new Dubai Metro trains are expected to arrive in November, with a total of 50 carriages being supplied to the RTA.

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) Mattar Al Tayer announced that delivery of the trains will be phased until October 2019 after he attended the technical test run of the first train on a 500m test track at Alstom Company’s factory in Poland.

The new trains have been upgraded with a new swankier design, complete with digital maps of the metro route and stations to make your morning commute a bit more interesting.

The upgrade in design will also help in accommodating 696 passengers instead of the current 643, meaning a more spacious daily trip.

Other new features include spruced up digital display systems, easier access for People of Determination and sleek new finishings, like a new handle shape (and more of them).

We can’t wait to jump on board.
