Well that was unexpected.

Because apparently a 1km-long zipline through the middle of Dubai Marina wasn’t enough, XDubai have only gone and launched a real-life, 100 percent-definitely-not-joking, actual human slingshot.

The XDubai Slingshot is set to open this weekend at Kite Beach, and this is for the proper thrill seekers. Why, you ask? Because this time those who dare to give it a... shot... will be launched a staggering 120 metres at speeds of up to 100kmh. And it will take just half a second to reach full speed.

The ride opens to the public at Kite Beach on Friday October 26, and will be open from Thursday to Saturday from 9am to noon and again from 1pm until 7pm. It’s only available for a limited time, so make sure you don’t miss out.

Tickets are on a first come, first serve basis, so head down and sign up early. For Dhs280 per person, you’ll get to experience the new sling shot, receive a free XDubai cap, plus a Dhs50 XDubai voucher to spend at the XDubai shop or towards the cost of your ticket for the XLine Dubai Marina.

"The new Slingshot, the region’s fastest, is an incredibly thrilling experience that invites people to stretch their limits," says Mohammed Javed, XDubai's general manager. "Not for the faint of heart, the Slingshot provides a quintessential XDubai experience designed specifically for the region’s adventure seekers.”

We can’t wait to go and give this a shot, stay tuned to Time Out Dubai’s social media channels on Thursday morning to get a sneak peek at this epic new ride.
