Dubai's oldest English library re-opens in new space

Book fans, we've got some good news for you. Dubai's oldest English-language library is reopening following its closure earlier this year.

The Old Library temporarily shut down in June but has now found a new home in the Gold and Diamond Park near First Abu Dhabi Bank Metro Station.

Emaar Properties stepped in and offered up the space after the facility's previous Mall of the Emirates base was earmarked for further development.

It has been around for 49 years and is run entirely by volunteers, using membership fees to cover operating costs and sourcing new novels from second-hand book sales.

The library is open Saturday-Thursday from 10am-6pm, and there's plenty of RTA parking nearby.

Let's get reading.
