Huge PUBG Mobile E-sports final coming to Dubai

It’s already amazing how players can win huge amounts of money playing games in E-sports tournaments, but to win up to $600k for a game played on a mobile phone? That’s something that needs to be seen.

And you can, as the grand final of Playerunknown’s Battleground (PUBG) Mobile Star Challenge Global is happening in Dubai, and tickets to the huge event are now on sale.

Held at the Festival Arena from Thursday November 29 until Saturday December 1, the competitive gaming tournament will see professional players from six global regions duke it out for the grand prize of $600,000. We’re now wishing we spent more time playing games.

It’s the final round of the International tournament, with teams participating from Europe, Asia, North America, South America, Japan/South Korea and China, all led by celebrity players.

What will your ticket get you? Fans of the game will be able to redeem in-game and physical “swag”, including limited-edition merchandise such as t-shirts, bags, coffee mugs and even a frying pan (which is used in the game as body armour to deflect shots).

Guests will also be able to win “collectable goodies” at booths, along with actually participating in exhibition match with a chance of winning brand-new Samsung mobiles.

If you’re not too familiar with PUBG, it’s an online multiplayer battle royale game that puts 100 players on a map and pits them against each other. If you’re the last man standing, as the game final message says, then it's “winner winner chicken dinner!”

It was initially released on PCs in 2017, but was eventually ported to mobile with huge success – gaining up to 10 million daily active players worldwide.

If you’re interested, you can nab yourself a ticket from Dhs35 or a three-day pass from Dhs110 right here.

The E-sports and gaming scene in Dubai is getting bigger and bigger, thanks to developments such as X-Stadium Dubai and the longest-running UK gaming festival coming in 2019.

Who will be the ultimate winner? There's only one way to find out...
