We've had loads of exciting nightlife news in the city recently – from RedFest DXB to bar birthdays, there are loads of places to party.

And now there's a whole new licensed music festival to get excited about over at the Par 3 lawn of Trump International Golf Course.

Live on the Lawns will showcase homegrown UAE talent for two days on Friday March 15 and Saturday March 16, and it's going to be huge.

As well as two days of non-stop music from the likes of Jay & Foe, Red Around and the ZeroDay band, you can expect a dedicated food area with live cooking stations, drinks and even a kids' play area.

On the food front, organisers Stoke House have promised that there'll be something for everyone – whether you're vegan, vegetarian or gluten-free.

There will also be a pop-up market showcasing local businesses including everything from organic beauty to sustainable fashion and handmade jewellery.

The festival is being run in association with Go Play the World, a dedicated community for musicians in the UAE that aims to nurture homegrown talent.

Highlights on the line-up include Jay & Foe, a six-piece band offering up jazzy, brassy folk with elements of swing, reggae and gypsy rhythms in vintage remixes.

We also can't wait to catch Aman Sheriff, a 21-year-old singer-songwriter from Dubai who uses an acoustic guitar, loop pedals and a sample pad to capture the energy of the crowd.

Fans of alternative music will love Vandalye, a folk-rock band who have opened for Elton John and shared a stage with Stereophonics.

This is going to be a packed weekend, so get yourself down there. Even better, tickets are totally free.
Fri Mar 15, noon-midnight and Sat Mar 16, noon-10pm. Stoke House, Trump International Golf Club, DAMAC Hills (04 245 3939).
