Celebrate Happiness Week with a free trip to Wadi Hub in Hatta

RTA is aiming to put a smile on faces everywhere on Friday March 22

Celebrate Happiness Week with a free trip to Wadi Hub in Hatta

We’re feeling all those happy vibes this week thanks to International Happiness Day (Wednesday March 20), but the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is giving us a few more reasons to beam with joy.

Celebrating third Happiness Week for the third year running, RTA has launched a selection of activities for all to take part in – including contests, tours, surprises and a trip to Hatta, all completely for free.

First off, travellers arriving at Dubai International Airport are in for a chance to get a trip in a Tesla.

The “Free Ride” initiative is offering 100 free trips to tourists on Wednesday March 20.

Then on Friday March 22, RTA will be offering a free bus ride to a day filled with adventure activities at the Wadi Hub in Hatta.

Happy travellers will get to take part in eight free activities at the hub, along with getting a gift on the day too.

Thinking of heading along? The bus from Mall of the Emirates Metro station will leave at 8am, along with a bus from Al Rashidiyah metro station at 9am and the last bus from Dubai Mall Metro Station at 10am.

Buses will return at 3pm, 4pm and 5pm on the dot. RTA recommends getting down there early to nab a seat as they expect the transport service to be fully booked.

“The Happiness Week 2019 coincides with the Year of Tolerance declared by the Government. As such, RTA is endeavouring to encapsulate the happiness strategy in the form of initiatives and services rendered to employees and clients,” says the chief executive of RTA’s of Corporate Administrative Support Services Sector Yousef Al-Rida.

“It is seeking to nurture a happy community living in a country of tolerance, respect and the coexistence of cultures and religions, especially as the UAE is home to almost all nationalities in the world.”

The UAE ranked first amongst Arab countries and twentieth worldwide according to the World Happiness Report 2018.

There’s also the ‘Search for Happiness Icons’ contest for RTA employees aimed at encouraging people to use public transport and search for happiness icons to win valuable prizes.

Also as part of Happiness Week, Metro stations across Dubai are hosting a free music festival where 25 international artists will perform in a week-long musical extravaganza, ending Saturday March 23. Check out which stations to go to right here.

Happy days, indeed.
