Free parking during Ramadan announced in Dubai

Fees will not apply from 6pm-8pm in most areas

Free parking during Ramadan announced in Dubai

With iftars happening across the city, finding a parking spot during Ramadan can be a little bit challenging right after sunset.

But the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has just made things easier with its latest announcement.

Parking will be completely free in the majority of areas in Dubai from 6pm to 8pm every Saturday to Thursday, as well as from midnight to 8am.

In Barsha Heights, there will be no charges after 6pm until 8am the following morning.

There is one major exception, which is multi-level parking lots where fees apply all day and night.

And it's worth remembering that parking is completely free everywhere in the city on Fridays and public holidays.

The special fees run from now until the end of Ramadan on Tuesday June 4.

During the period, timings will also change for Dubai schools, with the day starting between 8am and 8.30am and finishing between 1pm and 1.30pm.

Students will get shorter breaks as required, with schools asked to make sure that they spend no more than five hours in total per day on campus.

Meanwhile, the working day is shortened by two hours, according to the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation.

The reduced timings will apply from the beginning of Ramadan until the end of the period.
