New Dubai evening ferry service taking in city landmarks

A new Dubai evening ferry service is offering residents and visitors the chance to see the city's top attractions by dark.

The marine line takes in Burj Khalifa, Festival City, Dubai Creek, Old Souq, Al Seef, Spice Souq and La Mer after leaving Sheikh Zayed Road Station at 9pm and 10pm on Thursdays.

There are also regular trips from 4pm to 10pm during the trial period of the new service.

Tickets for adults start from Dhs50 for silver class and Dhs75 for gold class, while children aged between two and 12 get a 50 percent discount.

It's worth noting that the service will only run if there are 21 adults who want to get on board, so if you'd like to take a ride on the ferry then call 800 90 90 to register your interest.

Mohammed Abu Baker Al Hashimi, director of marine transport at RTA’s Public Transport Agency said: “The launch of this line is part of RTA’s efforts to enhance the tourist profile of these areas, which have an attractive array of captivating urban landmarks.

“RTA is always keen on launching initiatives to boost beach tourism in Dubai, especially as Dubai has a long coastal line with huge tourist attractions.

“The launch of this line will support RTA’s strategic plans aimed at attracting more fans to marine tourism.”
Dhs50 (adults, silver class), Dhs75 (adults, gold class), Dhs25 (kids aged two-12, silver class), Dhs37.50 (kids aged two-12, gold class), free (kids under two). Thursdays, 9pm and 10pm. Fridays, 4pm-10pm. Sheikh Zayed Road Station, Sheikh Zayed Road, (800 90 90).
