Four new brunches to check out this weekend

Looking to hit the dancefloor, dig into unlimited sushi or hear live music? Or perhaps you're after bites from a Michelin-starred chef? Look no further than these three brand-new brunches in Dubai this weekend.

Barasti
Head to this beach club for live music, loads of grub and surprise games and giveaways in store at this summer brunch at Barasti. There’s chicken wings, dim sum, pizza, peri-peri chicken, mini steaks and more to pick from, while there’ll also be live music from Sweet Chilli Jam – a highly commended winner of best band at the Time Out Abu Dhabi Music & Nightlife Awards.
Dhs199. Fri 1pm-4pm. Le Méridien Mina Seyahi Beach Resort & Marina, Al Sufouh (04 318 1313).

Taikun
Love sushi? This Downtown Dubai restaurant (that was formerly TOKO) has a new brunch offering up dishes from Vietnam to Japan, with sashimi, takaki, duck tacos, robata and more. There are also soups, salads and sushi to keep you going.
Dhs255 (soft drinks), Dhs395 (sparkling). Fri 12.30pm-4pm. Vida Downtown hotel, Downtown Dubai (04 442 8383).

Tasca
If you’re after fancy Portuguese eats, then hotfoot it over to the brand-new brunch at Tasca. Tasca, from acclaimed chef José Avillez opened at Mandarin Oriental Jumeira Dubai earlier this year. And the Portuguese restaurant has now launched a Friday brunch, which is running for the first time this weekend (Friday June 21). There’s set to be tasting menu, which comes in at Dhs400 with house drinks, along with some live music to keep the vibe upbeat. And alongside the food, there are also the views to look forward to, as the restaurant boasts vistas of Burj Khalifa and the Downtown Dubai skyline.
Dhs400 (house beverages). Fri 12.30pm-4pm. Mandarin Oriental Jumeira Dubai, Jumeirah 1 (04 777 2231).

The Penthouse
Kick off the weekend at our Bar of the Year, The Penthouse, for some top views, cool beats and live cooking stations. The Thursday night brunch starts at 9pm and promises two hours of drinks as well as music from top DJs. The best news? It starts at just Dhs149 for ladies.
Dhs149 (ladies), Dhs249 (gents). Thu 9pm-11pm. FIVE Palm Jumeirah, Palm Jumeirah (04 455 9999).
