Week of events to showcase UAE's space technology

A science initiative chronicling the UAE's foray into the space race is to be held by the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre.

Experts will hold a series of workshops and interactive events at the Emirates Towers Youth Hub as part of the Emirates Mars Mission Science Week.

The tools that scientists use to study Mars remotely will be revealed as well as details of the Hope Probe, which takes off from Japan in July next year and aims to reach the Red Planet in 2021.

The free-to-attend events will be held at various times on Monday July 1 and Tuesday July 2. A full list is available by clicking 'register' here.

Yousuf Hamad Al Shaibani, director general of MRSC, said: "EMM Science Week comes within the framework of enhancing the centre’s mission to introduce community members and university and school students to its scientific programmes, space projects, and the importance of scientific progress to make achievements that benefit humanity.

"It will shed light on the importance of the EMM to the Arab region, as it highlights the ability of the Arabs to contribute effectively to the enrichment of civilization and human knowledge."
