Hollywood hero The Rock has earned a Dubai Star

We’ve had a varied list of renowned international figures join Dubai’s very own Walk of Fame, but now patrons of the city will have to watch out for a ‘rock’ when they walk along the path (ahem).

By that, we mean Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, one of the latest stars to be added to The Dubai Stars, along with DC superhero Shazam! a.k.a Zachary Levi, talented Indian cricketer Virat Kohli and popular Lebanese singer Nancy Ajram.

They will be inducted to The Dubai Stars when it officially opens this October, making up the first 400 stars that will be along the path located on Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard in Downtown Dubai. When complete, there will be 10,000 stars in total.

Who doesn’t know the former WWE wrestler and famed action star? Thanks to movies such as Jumanji and Fast and Furious he's a household name. And he'll also be in the upcoming spin-off of the franchise, Hobbs & Shaw, coming out on Thursday August 1.

There’s also famed superhero Shazam! added to the list. Zachary Levi came to the Middle East Film and Comic Con earlier this year, and he’s also the star of the cult hit TV show Chuck as well.

As for Indian cricketer Virat Kohli, you’ll know him as one of the greatest players of the game right now thanks to scoring over 11,200 runs in one-day international cricket since his debut in 2008.

If you know songs such as Ya Tabtab Wa Dallaa, Oul Tani Eyh or Ah W Noss, then you’ll definitely know Lebanese singer Nancy Ajram, and yes, becauyse of her catchy tunes, she’s also earned her-self a star.

Other big names inducted into the Walk of Fame include K-pop phenomenon BTS, iconic footballer and Argentinian forward, Lionel Messi, Indian cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Saudi Arabian singer and composer Abdul Majeed Abdullah and many more.
