Dubai's Mall of the Emirates announces reduced opening hours

Majid Al Futtaim malls in Dubai will operate with reduced opening hours from March 18, 2020.

Shops in the malls, which include Mall of the Emirates, City Centre Mirdiff, City Centre Deira and City Centre Al Shindagha, will now open from noon until 8pm. The only exceptions are Carrefour stores, pharmacies and clinics.

There's no indication how long the opening hours will remain changed.

Previously the mall opened its doors to shoppers at 10am and closed at 10pm during the week.

Majid Al Futtaim said the decision was made to support its tenants through "challenging times" due to the current COVID-19 situation and enable to let them operate with "more flexibility".

Entertainment venues, including cinemas, in the malls had already been asked to close temporarily.
