The UAE Government has urged the public to self-isolate unless absolutely necessary to go outdoors.

The public are asked to remain home unless they need to get supplies such as food, medicine or to perform essential jobs.

The Ministry of Interior and the National Emergency and Crisis and Disasters Management Authority urged UAE residents to limit their social contact and avoid crowded places to help stop the spread of coronavirus.

The statement, made through government news agency WAM, also says that the public are also urged to use their own transport and not have more than three people in a car at the same time.

In addition, the public are asked to keep a minimum safe distance between family members at family gatherings and not attend a hospital unless it’s a critical or emergency case.

Anyone who doesn't comply will face fines and jail terms according to the UAE law on communicable diseases.
