This weekend (March 26-28), from 8pm until 6am, government emergency alerts were sent to all mobile phone users in Dubai and across the country to remind everyone to #Stayhome in a bid to curb the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus during the National Disinfection Programme.

While you were tucked up in bed over the weekend, Dubai government mobilised an unprecedented number of health and hygiene professionals to undertake a never-before-seen project to sterilise public facilities, as part of the National Disinfection Programme.

Now, Dubai Media Office has been released remarkable footage of the city-wide cleaning effort taking place. Watch the different videos below showing streets, ambulances, the metro, streets, taxis and more all being sterilised.

The National Sterilisation Programme will continue throughout this week, with residents urged to stay home during the hours of 8pm and 6am until the morning of Sunday April 5, unless in exceptional circumstances, where you can request permission through move.gov.ae.
