Dubai restaurant chain The Noodle House has announced plans to provide all healthcare staff in the city with free fruit and vegetables, as the emirate continues to fight the outbreak of the COVID-19 coronavirus.

Having partnered with Veggitech, a UAE-based agriculture and technology start up, the restaurant has said it will provide “complimentary UAE-grown fruit and vegetables” for anyone working in the medical field.

It uses contactless delivery to supply some 500kg of locally-produced vegetables and fruits to staff across the city, and does so using compostable packaging.

Anyone who works in the medical field is able to apply directly for the scheme, which can be done by privately messaging The Noodle House on Facebook.

Meanwhile, healthcare workers across the emirate received three nights of appreciation from Dubai residents over the weekend with applause and cheering from balconies, gardens and doorstops across the city.
