Dubai move permits updated to limit trips out

The Dubai Government has updated the use of move permits established in light of the COVID-19 outbreak, adding an option for ATM cash withdrawals and limiting the number of times individuals apply.

On the DXB Move Permit site, it states the users “can apply for Grocery/Pharmacy supplies one time every three days.”

Essential trips to grocery markets and pharmacies are only permitted a travel time of up to three hours.

There is also a new option to get a move permit for ATM cash withdrawals, with this being limited to one time every five days.

Currently, residents in Dubai can apply for a permit for essential trips for grocery and pharmacy supplies, ATM cash withdrawals and emergencies.

Dubai Police recently clarified the use of move permits in Dubai, stating whether you’re walking, cycling or driving, you need a permit to avoid legal action. Find out more here.
