As countries around the world continue to battle against the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus, heart-warming acts of solidarity between nations have been taking place in recent days.

While the UAE is staying at home during the National Sterilisation Programme, which is currently scheduled to continue until Saturday April 25 to help curb the outbreak, countries around the world including the UAE have been showing solidarity and appreciation for ongoing cooperation.

Most recently, that has extended to the UAE and Switzerland. Earlier this week, Dubai’s Burj Khalifa lit up in the colours of the Swiss flag – the famous red with a white cross – following a similar act which took place in the European country previously.

The UAE’s act of solidarity followed Switzerland projecting an enormous, glorious UAE flag across the Matterhorn, one of the highest mountains in the Alps mountain range. Switzerland has also displayed similar acts of unity with India, the UK, US and more in recent times.
