UAE companies band together to support local restaurants with new initiative

Like many other industries, the food and beverage scene has been hit hard by the adjustments cities around the world have had to make in order to halt the spread of the current pandemic.

It's estimated that more than 200,000 employees in the hospitality industry in Dubai have been affected by suspension of, or reductions in business. In light of this, a new initiative has been developed to support restaurants and cafés across the city.

Named the BuyNowDineLater.com initiative, the new platform offers foodies the chance to do what it says on the tin – buy gift vouchers from restaurants and cafés operating in the UAE for later when they start to reopen.

The scheme also features brilliant discounted gift vouchers from the Time Out Tab initiative, launched by Time Out Dubai and ITP Media Group in March 2020.

Launched by UAE-based company PointCheckout, and in collaboration with Time Out Dubai, Reserveout, FooDiva, EatApp, Foodics and Let’sDXB, the initiative aims to help restaurants overcome the challenges and restrictions in the current situation.

The scheme is simple: head over to www.BuyNowDineLater.com, take your pick from the list of more than 100 restaurants – which includes Le Petit Belge, BB Social Dining, Thiptara and more – and buy gift cards with discounts of up to 50 percent off.

Basically, you’re helping out some of the best restaurants in Dubai while spending less when you dine at them once they’re reopened.

“We have a responsibility as entrepreneurs to help fellow food and beverage entrepreneurs in whichever way we can by being resourceful in these times,” says Bashar Saleh, CEO of PointCheckout.

“It was amazing to see the many partners jumping on the opportunity of supporting this initiative as well, and we thank them for that. We invite people to buy these vouchers and support their favourite spots around the UAE,” says Bashar Saleh, CEO of PointCheckout.
