Etihad Rail Dubai route: Al Qudra bridge

See Dubai’s new railway bridges in new Etihad Rail video

There are 11 bridges on the Dubai network

Currently, only in use for transporting freight across the Emirates, the Etihad Rail service will eventually be open to passengers.

Curious about the Dubai route? A new video shows the Etihad Rail Dubai route, including some of its 11 bridges.

Yes, the railway line has 11 bridges in Dubai alone. The longest within the Dubai main line is the Al Qudra Bridge which spans 611 metres.

The other shown in the video is the Expo Bridge, which is 391 metres long.

Alongside the video post on Etihad Rail’s Twitter account, a caption reads: “Connecting Dubai Industrial City and the Expo Railway Bridge, which is adjacent to prominent landmarks including Expo City and Al Maktoum International Airport, extending all the way to Al Qudra Bridge, the longest railway bridge within Dubai’s main line network. This comprehensive railway infrastructure empowers and streamlines the transportation of goods throughout the country.”

Etihad Rail passenger travel

When the passenger train service is complete, it will connect 11 cities and regions across the UAE.

It will stretch from Al Sila to Fujairah including Al Ruwais, Al Mirfa, DubaiSharjah, Al Dhaid and Abu Dhabi. The hope is this will reduce the number of people who commute by car between the Emirates by 30 to 40 percent.

Trains are estimated to take 1 hour 40 minutes to move between Abu Dhabi and Sohar, and just 47 minutes to travel from Al Ain to Sohar.
