Watch the World Cup at Expo City Dubai: Al Wasl Plaza fan zone now open

Expo City is showing all the Qatar World Cup games across two fan zones

Jump into the roaring excitement of the FIFA World Cup 2022 at Expo City Dubai.

Expo City has gone all out to build two of the biggest football fan zones in the city. One, which opened on November 20 at the start of the tournament, is Fan City, a family-friendly space at Jubilee Park fitted with giant screens.

From December 3, this is now supplemented by the Wasl Plaza fan zone, which will show the games on four massive screens and projected across the inside of the dome.

About the Jubilee Park fan zone

Expo City

Jubilee Park will host an array of fun and engaging activations including table-top games; agility courses; foot volley courts; penalty kick activations; face-painting; and DJ’s spinning decks during half-time – as well as the showing the football matches themselves, of course.

Fans aged 21 and over can choose to enjoy the match from the licensed bar.

Al Wasl Plaza fan zone

Now open since the start of the Round of 16 on Sunday December 3, Al Wasl Plaza treats fans to a very unique World Cup broadcast experience. Four super-sized screens are showing the matches live, augmented by in-game graphics projected across Al Was Plaza – the world’s largest 360-degree projection screen.

Al Wasl Plaza caters to both adults and kids.

Getting to Fan City

Expo fan city

The Expo City fan zone is located in Jubilee park between the Sustainability and Mobility districts.

Getting there is easy, you just need to hop on the red metro line to the Expo 2020 Metro Station. Once you hop off, Expo City Dubai is free to access. You’ll see the Al Wasl Dome first, but if you’re heading to Jubilee Park, take a diagonal right towards the park.

The entrance to the fan zone will be right there. Before you see it, you might hear football commentary and cheering, that’s when you know you’re heading in the right direction.

Fan City will be open daily from 12pm to 1am.

Ticket prices

Fans can enter Jubilee Park at Dhs30 per person which will not be redeemable on food and beverages.

Fans who want to access the Al Wasl Dome to watch the World Cup need to also get a ticket for Dhs30 per person.

Food trucks and kiosks

The cordoned-off fan zone is home to plenty of food and drink options. However, most of the Expo 2020 Dubai restaurants and kiosks we loved have closed, with a handful of exceptions including AlBaik, Adrift Burger and Al Fanar currently open at Expo City Dubai. The fan zone is home to hot food options like Coppasta, food on the go, desserts, snacks, and coffee.

Dhs30 for Jubilee fan zone tickets, Dhs150 for Wasl Plaza tickets, Daily noon-1am, Expo City Dubai, expocitydubai.com/en.
