Eat Iftar/suhoor
Global Village is dishing out treats from all over the world so why wouldn’t you want to give the nosh a try? Whether you like biryanis and parathas or kebabs, noodles or crêpes, you are bound to find something you like.
Go shopping at the Ramadan Wonders Souk
Yes, there’s lots to buy at Global Village, from outfits to jewellery to things like soap, but there’s a new souq in town and it’s offering all kinds of unique things from around the world. Situated at the heart of the park, it’ll be a traditional Emirati-themed market.
Introduce the kids to theatre
Young people are in for a treat at the Kids’ Theatre. From Friday to Sunday, kids can enjoy an Arabic puppet show and the Kaleidoscope Show.
If it’s a picture-perfect moment, take a shot
Global Village will be pretty as a picture once Ramadan begins with new décor around every corner, so it only makes sense that you stop, pose and take that quintessential family-day-out shot.
Listen to the Arabian Orchestra
Take a seat and watch 30 musicians play a live show on the main stage. The group will perform every night. There’ll also be several other live shows such as a dual harps show, a performance by a violin player and a Tannoura show on the main stage and on the Wonder Stage in Mini World.
Ooo and aaa at the laser and fire show
If you are a fan of pyrotechnics, you’ll probably enjoy this too. The Dragon Lake will be decorated and a laser and fire show is planned. Keep your phone’s camera handy — you’ll walk away with some epic photos.
Take the Step Challenge
You’ll end up walking quite a lot at Global Village so you may as well be rewarded for it. Download Global Village’s mobile app and walk around the park. Those who walk 10,000 steps during a visit will be automatically added to a weekly draw. Winners will be announced every Friday during Ramadan. As for the prizes – you could take home Samsung Galaxy mobile phones as well as Apple and Samsung smartwatches.
Witness the firing of the Ramadan cannon
Every evening, to signify the end of fasting the Ramadan cannon will be fired. It’s quite an impressive sight.
