Travel bans in the UAE will now be automatically lifted

Here’s why you don’t need to manually apply for the removal

In a recent update, the UAE Ministry of Justice (MoJ) announced that UAE travel bans will now be lifted automatically once a legal case is resolved, eliminating the need for people to manually apply for the ban’s removal.

This change significantly streamlines the process, reducing what used to take an entire working day to just a matter of minutes.

Previously, individuals affected by UAE travel bans were required to submit clearance documents and other supporting materials to have the ban lifted.

However, these steps have now been completely removed, marking a significant improvement in efficiency. The Ministry highlighted this development in a brief video, emphasising that the required procedures have been reduced from nine steps to none.

This initiative is part of the UAE’s broader Zero Government Bureaucracy programme, which was introduced earlier this year. The programme aims to enhance the efficiency of federal government services by eliminating unnecessary administrative procedures.

By automating the UAE travel ban removal process, the MoJ is making government services faster and more accessible to the public.

The automation of travel ban cancellations has also been implemented by judicial authorities in both Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

Once any outstanding fines are settled, the ban is lifted without further action required from the person affected.

They can then resume travel without delay.
