Pop star Nick Jonas to headline Fiesta De Los Muertos 2018

He joins a spooktacular Halloween line-up at this year's event

Pop star Nick Jonas is coming to Dubai for the Fiesta De Los Muertos Halloween music festival – joining a spooktacular line-up that includes everything from Cuban reggaeton to Mexican mariachi.

He had been slated to play last year's event but pulled out at the last minute and was replaced by UK grime artist Stormzy who joined the Gorillaz and Carly Rae Jepsen in keeping the crowds entertained.

Jonas, who rose to fame in boyband The Jonas Brothers, will keep the crowds entertained at the 117 Live Arena with pop hits including Jealous and Close.

After starting off in youth theatre, he was offered a recording contract as a teenager, and grouped up with two of his siblings to find great success working with Disney.

He’s since launched a career as a solo artist, and last year he also worked with Nicki Minaj on Bom Bidi Bom, the soundtrack to movie sequel 50 Shades Darker.

Jonas joins a stellar line-up of acts who are taking to the stage on Friday October 26 for the mega-festival which is named after the Mexican Day of the Dead.

It will also feature Cuban reggaeton stars Gente de Zona, who topped Billboard's Hot Latin Songs chart with their single La Gozadera.

Their fusion of traditional genres with Caribbean beats has built them a mass following around the world and a YouTube view count of more than a billion.

Meanwhile, Mexican maestros The Mariachis (of Doritos TV ad fame) will keep the party going with their upbeat brass and guitar covers, with local electronic two-piece Hollaphonic bringing their trademark beats.

But that's not all, because EDM DJ Chantel Jeffries will be spinning the decks with a hip-hop infused set that will have crowds bopping into the night.

Earlybird tickets are available now from Dhs250, but prices will go up to Dhs290 tomorrow (Monday October 8).

The day after that, it'll be Dhs345 for general admission – so you'd best snap up your tickets as quickly as possible.

If you fancy going all out, then access to the VIP platform and parking is going for Dhs900. Conveniently, the VIP area is positioned for easy access to the washrooms. And with the event set to run through to the early hours of the morning, who could say no to that?

This is a spooky soiree that you really don't want to miss.
From Dhs250. Fri Oct 26. 117 Live Arena, Al Ain Road, 117live.com (04 423 7980).
