Costume competitions, creepy mixed drinks and delicacies await at this Jumeirah Lakes Towers bar. There’s a special Halloween deal for guests, whereby Dhs99 will get you unlimited bar food and a complimentary drink on arrival. Plus, if you dress up, you could have a chance of winning brunch for two at The Bonnington’s Cavendish restaurant.

Monster Halloween

Friday 29, Nasimi Beach
Never one to be outdone, Nasimi is throwing the mother of all Halloween parties with an evening of creepy entertainment, culminating in a fancy-dress competition with a total of Dhs20,000 in prizes for the best costumes. DJ Tim Cheddar will be bringing his floor-filling Halloween set to the haunted beach, complete with green sand, spooky decor, shipwrecked skeleton sailors and the ghost of Marie Antoinette on hand to scare the masses. There’s even talk of a sea monster emerging from the ocean. But this time, the fun doesn’t stop at the beach. Nasimi’s indoor restaurant and bar is being transformed into a cobweb-filled dungeon, where things will go bump (and grind) in the night thanks to R&B sets from DJs BFG and Fever. There will be Dhs5,000 each up for grabs for the best male and female costumes, plus a Dhs10,000 prize for the best group costume.
Free for ladies and Dhs50 for men before 9pm, Dhs100 for all thereafter. Doors open 6pm. Atlantis, Palm Jumeirah (055 200 4321)

Halloween III

Friday 29, Chi
Halloween at Chi kicks off with Fight Night, as Thailand’s Duangden Saenlero, Australia’s Matt McTavish and Iran’s Saeed Ali Mohammadi take on the UK’s Nasser Al Harbi, the UAE’s Najmeddin ‘Scorpion’ Al Hadad and Abdulmanem Kabani from Syria. Boxing will start at 7pm and continue until 10.30pm, but the night doesn’t end there. There’s a costume party from 9pm, with five Dhs5,000 prizes to give away for the best dressed. Chi Garden will be transformed into the Torture Garden, with ’80s and ’90s hits from Dave Crane, while Chi Club and Chi Red will be home to sets from DJ Emtee, David Craig, Mark Evans and Rude Larry.
Fight Night Dhs100 regular, Dhs200 ringside, including club entry. Costume party Dhs100, free for ladies and Face card holders before midnight. Fight starts at 7pm, costume party from 9pm. Chi@The Lodge, Oud Metha (04 337 9470)

Trick or Treat and Something Sweet

Friday 29, The 400 Club
If you were planning to create a costume by cutting eye-holes in a white sheet, this probably isn’t the party for you – The 400 Club’s bash will be more Swarovski-encrusted catsuits than black cats. According to organisers, loyal club-goers can expect the night of their lives as the recently refurbished, reservation-only club serves up a ‘wild and devious’ party that’s sure to be full of wicked surprises.
Free. Doors open 10.30pm. Fairmont Hotel, Sheikh Zayed Road (04 332 4900)

Graveyard Picnic

Friday 29, Aussie Legends
Playing host to Metal Asylum’s spooky celebration, this Satwa bar will be transformed into a haunted graveyard and organisers are laying on flaming short drinks and ‘Dark As Night’-themed mixed beverages – sample if you dare. There’s also a costume competition, so grab your broomstick and sprinkle on a few cobwebs for a chance to win bar tabs and drinks vouchers. In terms of entertainment, local bands Xceed, Echoes With Laughter, Red Circle and Coat of Arms will be on hand to bring down the haunted house.
Dhs50. Doors open 9pm. Rydges Plaza Hotel, Satwa (050 714 0427)

Friday 29, Blends
This super-stylish bar at the heart of Dubai Marina is giving itself a make-under as it gets all spooky for an evening of fancy dress. Guests are encouraged to dress in their most frightening get-up for a night of Motown classics, plus ’70s, ’80s and ’90s disco sounds from DJ Kennedy.
