Robert Miles preview

Italian DJ and creator of classic dance tune Children in Dubai

There are few dance tunes that have been etched into the consciousness of a generation quite like Robert Miles’s ‘Children’. Who’d have thought a tinkle on the ivories and a dreamy electro-synth score could lead to five million singles sold worldwide and untold riches? One man who isn’t grumbling is Italian-born Robert Miles, who hasn’t really needed to do anything since. Okay, perhaps we’re being a little bit unfair – Rob is responsible for dance hit ‘Protect Your Mind’, which samples the Braveheart theme music, and has released five albums in all, the latest being 2011’s Th1rt3en. Quite a bit, then Expect an intelligent and involving performance.

Robert Miles plays Armani Privé on Friday 13.
