Amir Mafakher flamenco guitar

Iranian guitarist plays The Fridge in Al Quoz

An Iranian guitarist who is ‘crazy’ about flamenco – an unlikely combination that almost warrants a visit to Amir Mafakher’s show in itself. Luckily, Amir isn’t just crazy about flamenco, he’s actually pretty good at playing it on the guitar – he has won numerous awards in his home country and has been under the tutelage of flamenco legends Manolo Sanlucar and Gerardo Nuñez. Amir will be play the classics of Paco de Lucia, Vicente Amigo and the aforementioned Nuñez. Get set for a smouldering performance.

Amir plays The Fridge in Al Quoz on June 6.
