Friendly Fires preview

NME award-winning UK indie outfit set for Trilogy

We’re more than a little intrigued to hear what records Friendly Fires bring out with them to Dubai. The Brit indie boys are best known for danceable ditties – they even picked up a ‘Best Dancefloor Filler’ award from NME – but how will they play it behind the decks in Trilogy? We’re hoping for safe and sound electro thrills, but we worry it will be a chance for the lads to show of the eclecticism of their record collections. Come to think of it, which of the pretty trio will even be coming over? Our money’s on drummer Jack Savidge, who’s been out spinning in his native UK, recently launching his own London clubnight Plastic People. Loaded resident Andy Buchan will be doing the warm up duties, with urban on the roof from DJ Bliss and Mr Shef Codes.

Dhs100 (before midnight), Dhs130 (after). 10pm-3am, Thursday March 22. Trilogy, Souk Madinat Jumeirah (050 624 5751).
