Clare Boucher – a member of Montreal art collective Arabatus Records and released her debut LP, 2004’s Geidi Primes on cassette – knows a thing or two about DIY. For her first global long-playing release, the 23-year-old locked herself in a blacked-out bedroom, emerging three weeks later with this collection of spooked and synth-centric pixie-pop. From the twinkly and airy electronica of ‘Symphonia IX (My Wait Is U)’ and the cosmic, K-Pop-influenced ‘Nightmusic’ to ‘Oblivion’, this record announces the arrival of a thrilling talent with a unique vision.
