Good news for drum 'n' bass and dubstep fans in Dubai

There’s plenty of good news for dubstep and drum’n’bass fans, plus a load of new nights and deals to try.

Bassheads have traditionally missed out in Dubai, but we’re pleased to see more and more opportunities for them to get a fix, with two snippets of good news to report. First up, top bass night audiOasis is back! After a spell at Catwalk last year, the guys are relaunching at the edgy Q Underground. To make sure the night goes off with a bang, they’ve lined up something special for their first international guest: DJ Friction. There’s talk of live spray-painting and more at the Friday May 10 event.

Before that, there’s another big bass-date for the diary: Thursday May 2, when south London dubstep pioneer Plastician takes to the decks for Something Big’s latest bill, this time at Catwalk in Barsha.

Dubai may be known for its ladies’ nights, but the concept is being flipped on its head with the launch of a new men’s night. Aimed at flashy big spenders, The Gentleman’s Club showcases new gadgets and fashions, while serving free drinks. Recently launching at The Gramercy, check for details of the next event.

Elsewhere, there’s a new sundowner concept coming to The Palm’s White X Beach & Lounge. Running from noon until midnight, Sunset Saturdays will offer free beach access, volleyball competitions and racquetball, alongside drinks and music.

It launches on Saturday April 27. Speaking of new concepts, there’s a new post-work Aperitivo Experience at Bahri Bar taking place from Sunday to Thursday and serving Italian fashion, food and mixed drinks – as well as 50 percent off drinks from 5pm until 9pm. Fantastico! There’s all for now, party people – now get out and play.
