Dubai party news

Summer closing down parties and more big Dubai events coming soon

Closing parties confirmed, the biggest weekend before summer, a clubbers’smartphone app and a rock gig.

We hate to be the bearer of bad news, but if you hadn’t noticed, summer is a-comin’, which means just one thing: closing parties! Top club 360° has declared it will be closing its outdoor deck with an almighty bang on Friday May 31. It’s not all bad news though, because while the Audio Tonic team play out upstairs, they’ll also be simultaneously launching a new Summer Sessions concept, which will be running downstairs and indoors throughout the hotter months.

Before those sweatier days arrive, promoters are cramming the big ones in – which is why this Friday May 3 could be one of the biggest nights ever. While Hot Creations founder Jamie Jones helps to ring in Blue Marlin’s first birthday, XL Beach Club will be hosting main player Andrew Ravel, and alternative pool party Sunny Vibe-up are rocking what may be their last party of the season at Dusk Terrace. Oh, and there’s some guy called David Guetta playing at Atlantis. Phew.

One Dubai club has embraced technology in a novel way – by launching its own smartphone app. Movida claims to be the first club in the Middle East to boast such an app, which we’re told is ‘green in focus’ (whatever that means), and will offer clubbers paperless tickets, SoundCloud streams of upcoming DJs and online party photo uploads, so users can show off their latest outfit – and check out the best-dressed competition.

Finally, anyone who was disappointed that UK Doors tribute band Doors Alive missed the recent Classic Rock Festival will be pleased to know the band are being lined up for a gig at The Music Room in June. That’s all for now, party people – go play!
