This week has seen a number of announcements as the Dubai music scene starts to get into full swing. Firstly, an exciting line-up has been announced for Creamfields in Abu Dhabi with British dance acts Calvin Harris and The Prodigy set to hit the stage on Friday December 13. The event has previously been headlined by Armin Van Buuren and Sandance favourite David Guetta.
Another vintage UK star is booked to play Dubai. Jungle and drum and base pioneer Goldie will be on the decks with MC Lowqui at The Music Room on October 17. The Music Room is also set to host another big name but this time it’s from Ireland. One of Dublin’s most prestigious nightclubs Lillies Bordello is set to take over the Bur Dubai space for one evening on October 12. With the Irish branch having attracted the likes of One Direction, Bono and Rihanna, we’re anticipating a glamorous event. The club will be flying out its residents DJs Tommy Stewart and Peter C as well as a host of Ireland’s top celebrities – we’ll let you know as soon as we know more. And finally, yet another nightspot is set to launch this month with the swanky London Reform Social & Grill opening its doors in The Lakes. The 15,000sq ft venue is designed to be a modern interpretation of a gentlemen’s club where music will feature prominently (we’ve been told to expect Northern Soul).
Finally, Dubai has recently welcomed yet another Latin-themed venue. Ocacti, a Mexican nightspot with a separate bar serving special mixers, is located in Marina Mall, and adds to the already competitive market. Time to start planning your weekend. Get out and party.
