We dig up the juicy rumours, new openings and hot events in Dubai’s music and nightlife scene.
November will see another new club hitting the nightspot scene. Fleurs, which aptly is shaped like a flower, will apparently encourage guests to hurl flowers at the stage, all in appreciation of the live musical performances that will take place.
The venue is to open at the Radisson Royal on Sheikh Zayed Road.
In other news, JBR’s high-end Ibiza concept is no longer with us. Cafe del Mar will be replaced with Azure Bleu, which will be launching shortly.
Meanwhile, any Australians with a penchant for facial hair can rejoice as the Palm’s laid-back Aussie hangout Biddi Bondi will be running a Movember event throughout the month of November.
The event, which is a vehicle for raising awareness about men’s health issues, will kick off on Friday November 1 with a clean shave at the pub. Participants will receive a Movember pack along with a membership card, which entitles them to a 20 percent discount on all food and drinks at the bar as well as other benefits throughout the month.
Media City is getting a new nightspot for media-types to pose in their skinny jeans. This month will see The Story Rooftop Lounge, which is located behind Zayed University, throw open its doors. It’s promising Peruvian food and original art so we’ll be sure to check it out.
Finally, budding artists from across the region now have another avenue through which to showcase their work. Red Bull Music Academy has launched a new monthly radio show. Each hour-long show will be split into four 15-minute segments, where talent from Lebanon, Egypt, Jordan and the UAE will be showcased.
