All-star Pinoy Rappers at Domeland
Live rap battles from the best of the Philippines’ underground rap scene, including Abra, Ron Henley, Loonie, Smugglaz, Batas and Dello.

Analog Room at Q Underground
This underground electro night is a hipsters’ haven spinning wilfully intelligent and eclectic nuggets from a revolving door of guest DJs. Today it’s a triple bill, with Tamir, Fhad and Megallaa all getting up to spin.

History of House with K-Klass at Media One
Retro-leaning rave-style club night History of House returns. Heading up the bill is K-Klass, the band behind 1990s hits ‘Let Me Show You’ and ‘Rhythm is a Mystery’, joined on stage by Space Ibiza man DJ Alex P. Later expect a live PA from Angie Grown, known for hits ‘I’m Gonna Get You’ and ‘So Good’. One for the kids of the 1990s.

Cause We Love Music at Bliss Lounge
US DJ Camouflage guests at this weekly house fest, with Sami Dee also making the journey from Bahrain to perform alongside Dubai’s David Craig and Smokingroove.

GlobalFunk featuring Andy C at The Music Room

Outlook Festival 2014 Super Yacht Party Hosted by Something Big
Croatia’s notorious bass festival Outlook hosts a one-off yacht party in conjunction with local night Something Big. Underground and grimy basslines might not seem like the natural fit for a sparkly boat ride, but with headliners Icicle (of Shogun Audio) and Ant TC 1 (of Dispatch Recordings) on board, who’s complaining?

The Laughter Factory
As the comedy outfit gears up to celebrate its 18th anniversary this summer, The Laughter Factory team present a notable bill – Andrew Ryan, Danny McLoughlin and ‘comic’s comic’ Dave Fullton. One of the team’s strongest bills so far of 2014.

Rahat Fateh Ali Khan live in Abu Dhabi
The nephew of Qawwali forefather and world music legend Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan – a favourite of Jeff Buckley, amongst others – performs under the stars in the capital. Expect yearning vocal explorations of a staggering nature.

Audio Tonic presents Native at 360°
Now in its eighth year, the recent winner of our Best House Night gong Audio Tonic keeps things local this week with a showcase of native talent, headlined by Best DJ winner Raxon, plus scene-stealer Smokingroove, Rod Lee Winters, Russ Cooper and Conan Liquid.

Deep Crates Cartel relaunch party with DJ Vadim at Q Underground
After a notable Thursday night absence from Casa Latina, the DCC – that self-righteous collective of ‘like minded DJs, street artists, musicians, producers and vocalists’ – relaunch a weekly presence, at a new home, and on a Friday. Playing the launch is guest DJ Vadim, a Russian dude known for mixing hip-hop, soul, reggae and the like, which will surely go down a treat amongst the Cartel’s clued-up crowd.

Plus Minus Sessions with Kollektiv Turmstraße at Nasimi

Turntables of the Gulf at Dusk Terrace
Party starters Dust and Radio Quarter Tone Frequency team up for a ten-hour rooftop party, starring three notable New Yorkers behind the decks: Nickodemus, known for his Turntables on the Hudson parties, DRM of a notable radio podcast and former Jungle Brother Bam. Taking to mic will be some of the UAE’s best vocalists, Hamdan Al-Abri and rappers Jibberish and Toofless, plus Dust residents on the decks.
