Aces at Boutiq Ultra Lounge

This underground electro night is a hipsters’ haven spinning wilfully intelligent and eclectic nuggets from a revolving door of guest DJs.

GlobalFunk with LTJ Bukem at The Music Room
The third in a four-part series showcasing forefathers of the genre, promoters GlobalFunk bring out drum and bass don LTJ Bukem. With SP:MC once more hyping on the mic, expect an electric evening of bass woodle and boom.

Neil Finn at Dubai Tennis Stadium
Known as a songwriter’s songwriter, Finn’s career spans three decades, including time with early band Split Enz and a respected solo career. However he will always be best known for fronting Australia-based Kiwi pop-rock band Crowded House, spawning numerous hits including ‘Don’t Dream It’s Over’, ‘Weather with You’ and ‘Fall at Your Feet’. The ‘Dizzy Heights’ tour, named after Finn’s latest solo album, comes to the Middle East having taken in Australia, Canada, USA and Europe before arriving to Dubai.

Nicole Moudaber at Nasimi Beach
Ranked easily among the best-known female DJs in the world, Nigerian decksmith Moudaber got an early headstart after being described as ‘the most underrated DJ’ by Carl Cox. Expect an assured mix of techno, electronica and deep house.

Unique Parties at Movida
A one-off party from this glam night, with Europe-hopping DJs Colin Francis and Kenzie spinning a mix of deep house, hip-hop and R&B, plus an undoubtedly decadent vibe from the brand known for parties from London’s Mayfair to Marbella.

Recently celebrating eight years in Dubai, the emirate’s top house night hosts its final international guest of the season. With releases on Culprit, Crosstown Rebels, Wolf + Lamb and Compost, Jozif’s visit has been a long time coming. Plus residents Russ Cooper, Raxon, and Dubai newbie Shaun Soomro guests.

After a scheduled gig in January was called off, Dixon comes to spin at the top beach club. Ranked the number one on Resident Advisor’s Top DJs of 2013, the German decksmith is among the most in-demand on the planet. Expect smart, soulful house from a consummate pro.

Full Moon Party with Andy Moor at XL
As opposed to their weekly Friday Pool Parties, XL up the ante with a fuller Full Moon theme. But forget that – the real draw is Grammy-nominated trance and electro DJ/producer Moor on the decks. Expect dark but danceable sounds from a top draw talent.

Groove on the Grass season closer at Emirates Golf Club
After hosting an impressive roster of international talent over the months – including a recent set from Tale of Us – intelligent leftfield house happening Groove of the Grass celebrate a successful season with a double-header of internationals – Berlin’s Ellen Allen and New York’s Bob Moses.

History of House at Story Rooftop

Mary Black at Almas Tower
You’d be forgiven for thinking we’ve seen rather a lot of Mary Black of late – the classic Irish artist was last seen in these parts singing for McGettigan’s third birthday last November. But this will be her last stop-off we’re told, as Black is retiring from international touring. Support comes from Roisin O.

Sugar Beach with Stephane Pompougnac at Barasti
All-day beach party starring French house veteran Pompougnac, who’s best known for his long running Hôtel Costes mix series, now in it’s 15th volume. He’ll be on at 6pm – also spinning will be DJ Venus, Marty Metcalfe, Marky T, Dave Armstrong and Tom Ferguson.

Maz Jobrani at MusicHall
Best known as one-quarter of the notorious Axis of Evil comedy group, who toured from 2005-2011, Iranian-American stand-up Jobrani is a Dubai fave who routinely thrills crowds in the emirates. This time he brings a new show to a swanky venue. He once performed in front of the King of Jordan.
