John Legend, Robbie Williams, Kid Ink and more upcoming Dubai gigs

We dig up the juicy rumours, new openings and hot events in Dubai’s music and nightlife scene.

John Legend, the American singer-songwriter, musician and producer who is known for his legendary voice and soulful R&B compositions, will return to perform at the 13th edition of the Emirates Airline Dubai Jazz Festival next year, as part of his Worldwide #ALLOFMETOUR. Legend is scheduled to bring his signature jazz, pop and soul sound to the Dubai Media City Amphitheatre on Friday February 27. Acclaimed American jazz bassist, cellist and singer Esperanza Spalding will also be opening the night with Legend.

March next year will see Robbie Williams embark upon his brand-new ‘Let Me Entertain You Tour’, stopping off at the du Arena, Yas Island, Abu Dhabi on Sunday April 26.

RedFestDXB adds Kid Ink to its line-up. The musician first broke onto the scene in 2012 with his debut album Up and Away but it wasn’t until this year that the music world took notice of what he has to offer. He is known for his collaborations with Chris Brown on ‘Show Me’ and ‘Main Chick’. His latest single, ‘Body Language’, featuring Usher and RedFestDXB artist Tinashe, debuted at number nine on the Urban Singles Chart.

In other news, the world-famous musical, Mamma Mia! is coming to these shores. The show will run at Dubai World Trade Centre from Friday January 2 to Saturday 10 with 14 unforgettable performances. Based on the classic hits of Swedish band ABBA, the musical combines the story-telling magic of their timeless songs with an enchanting tale of love, family and friendship on a Greek island.
